The Bridge at Ridgely hosted a Veterans Day celebration on Nov. 11 to honor residents and community members for their service in the armed forces.
The Bridge is a 100-bed skilled and long term care facility with expertise in short term physical, occupational and speech therapies. It is also a Serenity HealthCARE facility which specializes in caring for those suffering from Dementia or related diseases. The facility is operated by Signature HealthCARE, based in Louisville, Ky.
On November 11, 2014 the staff of The Bridge at Ridgely honored local veterans with a special program and pinning ceremony. The event was sponsored by the Quality of Life department and recognized approximately 40 veterans, both community members and elders living at the center.
Blair Reynolds, Quality of Life Director hosted the ceremony. She presented a plaque to each veteran at the facility, with their name inscribed on it. The plaques will then be permanently displayed on the Veterans wall in front of the building. The program was also sponsored by Aseracare Hospice, who presented each veteran with a certificate displaying their name and branch of service.
“We are so grateful to our veterans at The Bridge at Ridgely, and in our community, for their service and sacrifice,†said Administrator/CEO Cherry Garrison. “This was just a way for us to honor them and show our appreciation.”
